Do you provide 24-hour access to nursing staff?
Yes, we have professionally trained staff available 24/7.
Am I able to choose the general practitioner of my choice?
Yes, you can choose your own general practitioner.
Am I allowed to stay out overnight or for extended periods of time?
You are free to come and go as you please, but please let staff members know if you are going to be absent.
Am I able to choose my own pharmacy?
We prefer to deal with a particular pharmacy, but if you choose another, we can accommodate this.
What are the visiting hours?
There are no restrictions to visiting hours, but we do ask that everyone respects the privacy and quiet enjoyment of others.
Do I have access to other healthcare providers – i.e. podiatrists, physiotherapists and dieticians?
Allied health specialists are always available.
I have a pathology slip – do I need to go to pathology to have a blood test done, or can it be done at Eventide?
All pathology can be done at Eventide.
What if I need a doctor out of hours?
There is always a doctor on call, and our local hospital has an emergency department.
Can I self-administer my own medications?
Yes, you can self-medicate once your general practitioner has deemed you competent to do so and with an ongoing three-monthly review.
